We produce limited-edition artworks by Mexican and international artists, which will be sold online and shipped worldwide.
What is a limited-edition artwork? It is a work of art produced in a limited edition of identical, signed, and numbered pieces. It is not a copy or reproduction of a previous work; on the contrary, each piece in the series is considered an original work in its own right.
Like a publication or an exhibition, a limited edition has its own parameters, in which the concepts of reproducibility, authenticity, and repetition are fundamental.
Why buy limited-edition artworks? They are sold at a more affordable price than a unique work. The price is divided by the number of pieces produced, which allows more people to purchase works of art. Similarly, artists can count on financial support from a broader base of buyers, making them less dependent on just a few “major” collectors and institutions.
What does Ítera do? Ítera supports artists at every stage of the production process. We provide critical guidance and our expertise in the field of reproduction as we develop projects with artists; we finance and produce the works in close collaboration with the artists; and we market the works (sales, distribution, and promotion) through our website, social media, and at art fairs and special events.
Our publishing house aims to contribute to a more inclusive art economy, through an approach grounded in shared intuition, open dialogue and pleasure in the making.
